ABSTRACT:
This paper explores the concept of fee-based service as a way of making information more readily available to tourists in Nigeria. It reviews the objectives of Nigerian Tourism Bereau and outlines different strategies for satisfying the information needs of tourists through libraries. It is suggested that merely establishing libraries will not be enough; effort should be made to disseminate relevant and timely information to the people. A fee-based service scheme is the best way for providing and disseminating information to the Nigerian people for tourism development.
