Primary data were also collected from the area using questionnaire and Focus Group Discussion methods. The questionnaire was analysed using SPSS Version 20, and Student t-test and One-way ANOVA were used to test the hypotheses. From the results, 91% of the respondents confirmed that diaspora remittances have profound impact on income generated by the recipients and have also reduced poverty thereby improving their standard of living. Furthermore, 97% also revealed that international migration has positive impact in their communities. The finding also shows that there are variations in remittances from the diaspora among the sampled communities. The policy implications and recommendations include the need for international migrants to invest in their home communities by setting up small scale industries, and by visiting home regularly in order to promote the sharing of ideas between migrants and those left behind. There is the need to formulate and implement policies by Orhionmwon Local Government Council that encourages skill acquisition. Finally, there should be favourable international laws in relation to international migration for easy movement of goods and services. Governments should always partner with international migrants in order to bring development to their various communities.
