KEYWORDS: PARADIGMS FOR PEACE EDUCATION AND NATIONAL SECURITY IN POST MILLENNIUM NIGERIA
ABSTRACT:
This paper examined the need for peace education in the school curriculum using the integration approach in the journal- and informal context so as to promote national stability and democratic restructuring. Integration efforts by successive governments were highlighted; historical approaches to peace integration and thequest for a national peace agenda were also discussed. Ways of integrating peace education by targeting segments ofthe society and social institution were viewed as paramount in eradicating the influence of violence crisisamong children of school age. As part of recommendation, educators Vshould take cognizance of the affective psychomotor, cognitive domain of learning and utilize its benefits during teaching and learning process.
