The Role of Business Education In Advancing Entrepreneurship In Nigeria

ABSTRACT:

This study discussed the role of business education in advancing entrepreneurship in Nigeria. Business education is seen as a subset of education. Business education is described as an education for business and about business and could make a person to perform well as an entrepreneur. While entrepreneurship focuses on the desire and ability ofa person to searchforinvestment opportunities within his environment and also be able to set up and run an enterprise based on the identified opportunities. It was concluded in this study that business education knowledge when applied to entrepreneurship, such entrepreneur will be able to apply the managerial skills, bookkeeping/accounting knowledge in the business that he/she is involved either as an employee or employer of labour. It was recommended that the environment shouid be made conducive for business to encouraged entrepreneurs. This is a responsibility of the government and other stakeholders.
